Abstract
This comprehensive literature review examines the growing role of artificial intelligence in language and literature education, with a particular focus on its potential applications in Persian language and literature. Despite the significant growth of research in the field of AI in Language Education (AILE) between 2020 and 2025, a notable gap exists in studies related to Persian language and literature. By analyzing 22 recent studies, this review explores key technologies including conversational chatbots, intelligent tutoring systems, automated writing evaluation tools, and speech recognition technologies. Theoretical frameworks such as the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) are examined as foundational theories. The findings indicate that AI tools can be effective in simplifying classical texts, enabling adaptive instruction, and providing immediate feedback. However, ethical challenges, the risk of over-reliance on technology, and limitations in higher-order language skills persist. The review concludes by offering practical recommendations for the responsible implementation of AI in Persian language and literature education.
